Multiplex: Through a Glass Darkly

After Multiplex: The Movie (Book Six), I starting having the characters make film promos to advertise their classic movie series. Like the movie, they were hand-drawn and mostly just a fun opportunity to have the characters in short, goofy scenes inspired by some great movies, but also just a chance for me to take a break from the vector illustration (which is slower than people think).

I love experimenting with different drawing styles and techniques, so I tried to adjust my approach for each film.

This Wrath of Khan-inspired sequence found the Abramsverse crew meeting up with their OG counterparts.
